Lele Pons, Alissa Violet, Jake Paul, Hannah Stockings, Inanna, Amanda Carney, Logan Paul and many more such people whose names you hopefully would’ve heard if you’re reading this article, have one thing in common.Let’s just say that it’s the best thing that has happened to them so far in their lives – Social Media!
They’re not just people but Social Media brands. From Instagram to Youtube and Facebook, they have it all and everyone at their feet, somehow. Getting 1,000 new followers everyday for them is like us drinking our daily cuppa – Normal. Oh, and they were just as unknown as you and I are to the world before they started with the simplest and most fun things that made them not just popular but powerful influencers. So, let’s see what these step stones to a Social Media success are.
1.Be shameless (to an extent).
The one thing you can’t shy away from is your camera. No matter how introverted you are, make the camera your comfort zone. Most of the sensations, we know, started off with vines and making them unique, funny and shameless, and that is what increased their viewership. The need to be confident in the social media world is a must, unless you have a talent. If you’re a dancer, singer, actor, beat boxer or anything else that can be showed off, then do it already! But this is for those people who have been put under the category of ‘good for nothing’ and well, they don’t want to change it either, just to please people.
It’s one thing to want to become famous and another to actually make efforts for it. It takes a few months for your viewership to increase from scratch. The important thing to realize is that you can’t do it overnight. You must keep your posts coming and try to make the next better than the previous one. Everybody wants to be popular but more than 80% of the people lose patience and leave the journey midway. So, keep it coming and make it good.
People only get attracted to the stuff that’s visually appealing and by that I don’t mean you have to be good looking. Of course, it’ll be an advantage but only if the content of the post is attractive too. You don’t need to be a professional but make sure you use a good camera even if it’s on your phone. All you’ll require is a little bit of practice and you’ll get better with time.
4.Tags and #Hashtags.
It’s not a technical study – the perfect use of tags and hashtags. Putting the most appropriate hashtags can be very helpful. For eg.- If you want more followers, try using #f4f with your captions and get people to follow you for a follow back. Tags also are just as important specially while promoting a product, a person or an organization. Tagging the people who you think might be most interested in your posts is always a good idea. It increases the visibility of your posts and hence increases viewership.
The most important way to become a social media sweetheart is by giving people what they want and like. Posting away content that can be controversial and sensitive to people can crash your credibility and lose you a lot of your followers. Give people what you think you can to make them follow you. It could be entertainment, inspiration, advice, training or anything else that serves a purpose for them.
6.The power of an influencer.
The most important quality you can have is that of an influencer. If people get inspired and influenced by you in any way, they will follow you. They will want to be like you, do the things you do or the things you’d like them to do. Not many have this, but if you want it, you’ll have to have something that very few have. A quality or a talent that differentiates you and I’m sure if you look for it, you’ll find it over the time to come.
I’m sure there are a million other things that one will need to become a Social Media rock star, but the best way to do it is by having patience, learning and being committed to it. Like any other job to be successful at, this one needs efforts too but, hell this one comes with A LOT of creativity and A LOT of fun! And don’t you forget me when you become all famous; you know it’s partially because of what you just read.
